The Sivas-Kangal Thermal Power Plant, located 25 km from the Kangal District of Sivas and 2 km from the lignite coal mines, was initially planned with an installed capacity of 2 x 150 MW, and later an expansion to 4 x 150 MW was envisaged.

The “Coal Preparation, Transportation, and Ash Disposal System Construction” works were undertaken on a turnkey basis in collaboration with partners. This project involved the manufacture and transportation of 11,000 tons of steel structures and machinery, the domestic transportation of materials and equipment imported from abroad, the assembly of 16,000 tons of domestic and imported materials, and all construction works.

Within the scope of domestic manufacturing, 7 mobile machines are available, including 5 Reclaimer-Stackers, 1 Stacker, and 1 Tripper car, representing 50% of the total, along with 12 transfer towers. The conveyor line with a total length of 7,000 m (2 x 3,500 m) is also included in this scope. The construction scope includes 1,900,000 m³ of rock excavation, 500,000 m³ of fill, 49,000 m³ of concrete, 2,600 tons of steel, and 450,000 m³ of crushed stone work. All work was completed by the end of 1989.
